This set of tapes is a compilation of various AIDS Wolf live improvisations. Despite the crude quality of the recordings, it displays the creative exchanges we were having within the band at different periods, with different formations, and within different environments.

TAPE I is a selection of improvs from the 'Badass Tour' in the Spring of 2009, AIDS Wolf's last tour as a four-piece. During this period, the band's performance included an obligatory improvisation half-way through the setlist. This 'break' in the set was mostly coordinated while Alex was changing to a guitar with a different tuning. This provoked about fortysome instant compositions that we tried to document as much as possible…unless we forgot to press 'REC' on the tape machine, which happened quite often.

TAPE 2 contains three long improvisations with ex-Shearing Pinx Erin Ward. "Getting Laids Wolf" was performed also with Steve Mattos (from Athletic Automaton / Arab On Radar) and is the first AW show in Montreal with Alex on board. This turned out being an impromptu improv set with special guests caused by Myles having to cancel last minute because of the stomach flu. Grouping all members of both bands, "Shearing Wolf / AIDS Pinx" was planned as a bridge between Shearing Pinx's and AIDS Wolf's sets during our last show together on the canadian leg of our 2009 tour. Myles was also slated to perform on "AIDS Ward", but left for England after our last show as a 4-piece opening for Teenage Jesus and the Jerks the evening before, making this improv a transitory event of our trio lineup.

Finally, TAPE 3 is a selection of short improvs recorded during teh rehearsal of the band as a trio before the "March To The Sea" tour.

I saw the sea scouts in a small club here in Lincoln, Ne back in either 1998 or 1999 and they blew me away!!!! That bass tone is soooooo mean….it damn near found the brown note w/ me. And to top it off….they are such super sweethearts!!! John Peyton
